Welcome
Welcome to the website dedicated to the work of Wayne L. Carpenter, M.Div., M.A. Wayne is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over twenty-five years experience in the practice of psychotherapy. He works with adults in a private practice setting and sees clients in individual, couples, and group therapy. His academic training includes graduate degrees in both theology and psychology, with post-graduate certifications in Transactional Analysis, Integrative Psychotherapy and Group Therapy.
Wayne teaches and consults with a focus in two main areas: Integrative Psychotherapy and Couples Psychotherapy. Wayne is a certified trainer of Integrative Psychotherapy and Transactional Analysis, and is a Certified Group Psychotherapist. He is passionate about preventing unnecessary divorce and family disintegration. Also, he welcomes working with persons who have survived early life difficulties, traumas, and existential dilemmas. His first career as a clergyperson has sensitized him to the needs of person with grief and spiritual longings, and a sense of brokenness and alienation.
Along with his work as a psychotherapist, Wayne is also an ordained Christian clergyman. He attended theological seminary at an open and diverse theological consortium in California and is sensitive to and respectful of all spiritual traditions, but never sectarian. He was fortunate to study with many great clergy and many well known psychotherapists, and considers himself fortunate to be mentored by Richard Erskine, Ph.D., the originator of Integrative Psychotherapy.
